Today, I want to get into what the heck a Day Of Wedding Coordinator actually does (also known as a DOC or event manager).
? We answer a crazy amount of phone calls, texts and emails - at ALL HOURS OF THE DAY AND NIGHT and even on VACATION.
? We do a walkthrough at EVERY SINGLE venue or location, whether we’ve been there or not.
? We offer our advice and ideas.
? We check in with you regularly to see how the planning is going and if you need anything.
? We refer you to TRUSTED vendors because we love them and feel that they would be a good fit for YOU and YOUR WEDDING.
? We turn down other business for the same day as your wedding so we can focus on you alone.
? We have a final detail meeting with you 3-4 weeks prior to the wedding to go over EVERY SINGLE DETAIL of your wedding.
? We collect ALL vendor contracts to confirm delivery locations, times, and final arrangements with them so there are no surprises come the day of.
? We create a customized wedding day timeline to be approved by you and distributed to ALL vendors so that everyone is literally on the same page.
? We improvise if needed and make all parties aware.
? We attend your ceremony rehearsal and coordinate your processional, recessional, and what to do before and after your ceremony so you’re not left looking around clueless as to what to do and where to go.
? We collect ALL items that need to be set up at the ceremony and reception at the rehearsal so that we have everything in our hands and ready to set up on the day of.
? We bond with your family and bridal party.
? We’re that one “go to” person for everyone, including family and vendors.
? We setup and decorate your ceremony and reception spaces.
? We make sure all vendors and guests know where they are going when they arrive.
? We ensure that specific parties are present when needed (i.e.: dad is in the room when the DJ announces the father/daughter dance) and even give them a head’s up right before.
? We assist with the distribution and pinning of corsages, boutonnières and bouquets.
? We pack up all of your personal items at the end of the night.
? We overall handle any issues that may arise without alerting the couple when possible.
? We think and act quickly when needed.
