With so much going on to get ready for the big day, it’s no wonder some things may slip through the cracks. Here are 10 things brides usually forget:
- Items for a flat lay photo.
Your photographer most likely will want to take some flat lay photos. Common items for this shot include your invitation suite, jewelry, shoes, perfume and extra flowers. Be sure to gather these items and have them readily available for your photographer when they arrive.
- Cake topper.
Whether it’s extra flowers that need to be ordered or a custom monogram, make sure you have something for the top of your cake.
- Cake knife.
It’s nice to have a custom cake knife with your names and date on it, but if you don’t, be sure to let your caterer or planner know so they can plan to bring one.
- Envelopes with cash tips for vendors.
This is customary. If you plan to tip your vendors, you should have cash in sealed and labeled envelopes for your planner or a trusted friend/family member to distribute. - Printed copy of vows.
Trust us, it looks better in photos if you are reading your vows from paper instead of your phone. Make sure you print out at least one copy, if not two to have a backup.
- Take a few minutes alone with your partner.
The day goes by so quickly! Be sure to take a few minutes alone with your partner. I usually suggest doing this immediately following the ceremony. Another good time to do this is right before your ceremony if you choose to do a first look. - Lipstick for touchups.
There will be lots of kissing, eating and drinking throughout the day! Make sure you have your lipstick on hand for touchups.
- Table numbers.
Many venues do not provide table numbers. This is particularly important for guest seating, so make sure you put them on your list!
- A way to get their personal decor and belongings home.
Brides are always worried about getting their personal items and decor TO the venue that they forget to think about how they’re going to get those things back home. Enlist the help of a close family member or friend to transport your items back home. You’ll most likely be attending your after party, staying in a hotel room that night and/or getting ready to leave for your honeymoon, so you won’t be able to take most things with you. - Relax and enjoy the day!
The day goes by so quickly! Make sure you take it all in and enjoy every single moment!
