With 2 rough years behind us and 2022 right around the corner, we’re sharing our favorite wedding trends the industry is seeing in 2022.
1. Sequel Weddings
Sequel weddings are becoming very popular (thank you, COVID). It allows for the bride and groom to have a small intimate gathering with their family and close friends, but then they can have another event on a bigger scale with more guests without all the pressure.

2. Cheeky Signage
Fun and cute signs are very popular for the upcoming 2022 year. It allows for a play on words with the food, drinks, and more.

3. Acts of Gratitude
Acts of gratitude allow for the bride and groom to show their appreciation for the guests and one another. The napkins can have fun facts on them or if the wedding is taking place on a beach, a place for guests to put their shoes would be ideal! Getting married in the cold winter months? Blankets are the perfect favor!

4. Japandi Style Weddings
Japandi (a combination of Japanese and Scandinavian) style is making its introduction to the wedding world. A few highlights of this trend:
– Neutral or muted tones
– Natural fabrics and materials (linens, baskets, wood, stone, wet leather)
– Minimalist wedding attire
– Bringing the outdoors in
– Simple – less is more

5. Grand Millennial Style
Grand Millennial style has a classic style sticking to the tradition. The tones are warm. And it consists of a mix of patterns, prints, and colors. It blends old-school designs with a 21st-century twist. It is perfect for someone who wants the best of both worlds and a wedding that people will never forget.
6. A Departure from the Serious
After 2020, people just want to have fun! Incorporating quirky details or fun elements into the wedding are making things a lot less serious and a lot more lighthearted!

7. Cottage-core Weddings
Many couples are opting for a cozy and home-like feel for their wedding vibe. This includes bringing elements from the outdoors inside their venue. Think greenery, plants, trees, dried and fresh flowers, warm and neutral tones and sustainability. It also means they are incorporating floral patterns in things like the china, dresses, men’s attire accents and stationary.

8. Sober Cocktails or “Mocktails”
This is a time of increasing focus on wellness and fitness. Alcohol consumption is decreasing, especially among millennials, but that doesn’t mean water has to be the only non-alcoholic option at your wedding! Have fun with ingredients, Incorporate fresh fruits, vegetables herbs and more to create a fun buzz-free concoction.

9. Intimate Gatherings
If there is one good thing that came from COVID, its the intimate weddings and events that it brought us. Prior to 2020, weddings seemed to be much more about the elaborate party rather than the couple and the meaning of love and marriage. We quickly changed our thought process when we were only “allowed” to have up to 10 or 25 of our closest family and friends present. Weddings became much more about the couple and those closest to them to share in the day.

I hope this sends you on the right path for you 2022 wedding planning!
