Recently, I had the pleasure of setting the scene for Lygia and Robert’s wedding at the Branford House at UCONN Avery Point with Fazendo Arte by Fabiane Colere. The design was warm and rustic with touches of greenery everywhere from the head table to the place settings. This wasn’t my first wedding at the Branford House, so I knew what the different layout possibilities were.

As guests entered the grand ballroom, they grabbed their place cards from atop the baby grand piano that was beautifully decorated with moss and birchwood logs. In front of the marble and cherry wood fireplace sat an elongated head table with greenery running down the center. The guest tables filled the rest of the grand ballroom and were decorated similarly with wooden charger plates and a small piece of fern on their menu card. On top of the decorative table in the corner set Lygia and Robert’s decorative wedding cake. With tiers decorated to look like birchwood, the humming bird and branch decorations were the perfect touch. I love working at this venue because the opportunities are boundless with the outdoor patio overlooking the shore. Lygia and Robert chose to have an outdoor bar, which was great for fun reception opportunities like having their first dance at sunset surrounded by friends and family!

Lygia and her girls (which included her 2 beautiful daughters) spent the morning getting glammed up in the Bridal Suite at the Branford House  by Larissa Lake and Co. Didn't they all look amazing?

Overlooking the water, the ceremony was held on the outdoor patio, framed by two rows of large stone pillars. It was a windy evening, but Lygia and Robert’s backdrop of lightbulbs filled with water and flowers withheld the ceremony. We even had an extra special guest—a seagull decided to swoop in and snatch up a eucharist after the blessings were made!

We thought Lygia looked amazing walking down the aisle (and it seems like Robert did too).

Lygia and Robert had the opportunity to take more amazing photos during the cocktail hour while their family enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres from Coastal Gourmet and a drink. How beautiful is this photo of the couple on their rustic swing that they brought to the venue?

After cocktail hour, lively introductions were made down the grand staircase leading outside. Family and friends surrounded the couple as they had their first dance as husband and wife on the patio. Following cocktail hour, hilarious and heartfelt toasts were made by members of the wedding party. Guests were then seated for a Brazilian family style dinner, and then the dancing began! Lygia and Robert have a great group of friends and family surrounding them that truly know how to have a good time!
