We had the honor of coordinating Nicole and Yves’ wedding at The Hartford Club on June 22nd, 2019. This was my first time coordinating a wedding at this venue, so I was more than excited to get started! Melissa and Sarah, who work for the venue, were fantastic to work with from the beginning, which made the day that much more enjoyable.
Due to the timing of events, we had to begin the setup at The Hartford Club first. We greeted the florist and band upon their arrival, and also set up the guest tables. This included decorating them with tea lights and small mirrors to accent the floral arrangements, and placing menu cards at each place setting. The sweetheart table was accented with candles and lanterns to create a romantic feel. Once the sweetheart table and all the guest tables were finished, we completely lined the staircase with lanterns, set up the welcome table with the map that Nicole had made for guests to sign, photos of Nicole and Yves, and other miscellaneous decorations that completed the look.
After that, we were ready to head to the church to get ready for the ceremony. We arrived at the church and began to put the groomsmen in place before the bride arrived. The flowers were pinned on the groomsmen while we waited. As guests arrived, we made sure the bride and her bridesmaids were tucked away so that guests entering the church could not see them. Once all the guests arrived, we lined up the bridal party and the ceremony started.
Once the ceremony ended, we headed back to the reception venue to make sure all the finishing touches were in order, including placing vases filled with water, ready to hold the bride and bridesmaids bouquets as extra floral decor. During this time, the bridal party went to take some more photos.
As guests filed in and cocktail hour began, we gathered up the bridal party and family for some inside photos at The Hartford Club in a pretty room upstairs.
After making sure all the guests were seated and comfortable, we gathered up the bridal party once again for introductions into the reception!
The night started out with toasts, and we made sure that the DJ was ready to announce the names of the close family members congratulating the couple: the Maids of Honor and the Best Man.
Dinner went smoothly as everyone enjoyed entreés served by The Hartford Club. After dinner, we began the formal dances, starting with Nicole and Yves’ first dance, followed by Yves and his mother in the mother / son dance. Something special followed that. Nicole honored her late father by dancing with with her uncles and brother. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house, including ours! Good thing the party got started right after that!
I just love these candids! They totally capture the pure joy and happiness in everyone's faces.
After a few hours of partying and dancing, the night began to quiet down. As the band sang their last song, we helped the guests create an aisle outside so that Nicole and Yves’ could make their first exit as husband and wife to the shuttle bus heading back to the hotel.
Congratulations to Nicole and Yves’! We are so happy to have been able to help make your special day stress free and fun!
