Alex & Annie's Backyard Inn Wedding

Annie's mom, Barbara, reached out to me 3 weeks before Alex and Annie's wedding. Yes, I said 3 WEEKS. They had been planning their wedding while touring as Opera singers. How cool is that? Needless to say, things were a little hectic, so Mom was helping with the bulk of the wedding planning tasks in CT. 

As the big day approached, they realized it would be beneficial to have someone as their "go to" person, help with the little details they planned, set up their decor, keep them on task and manage the day they had been envisioning. I was happy to oblige, and this was probably the closest to the wedding day that I had been contacted. I'm happy to say that the day turned out amazing and both set of parents and both brides were extremely happy.

We started the day at the Bee & Thistle Inn, where the brides, their families and some guests were staying, and also the location of both the ceremony and reception. Each bride had her own room to get glammed up in, and Posh Salon did an amazing job.

Once they were ready, they had a special first look moment on the grounds of the inn, followed by some formal portraits.

I really love the Jewish tradition of signing the Ketubah before the ceremony. Besides the fact that they are usually beautifully decorated, I love that it is a special moment before the ceremony with just the couple and close family and friends.

Next, it was time for the ceremony, and how beautiful it was! Annie, being Jewish, and Alex, being Greek, they incorporated both traditions into their ceremony.

The reception kicked off with some Greek style dancing, then the Hora, followed by speeches from the parents.

And let's not forget about those details!

We were so happy that we could be there to celebrate Alex and Annie's big day, and we are so very thankful that they trusted us to come in and manage the day for them! Congratulations Alex and Annie!
